Electrical Service Technician

Mankamy NZ Limited is a growing company providing installation, maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and technical support for a wide range of IT, electrical, telecommunications and electronic equipment across commercial, industrial and hospitality sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking two Service Technicians to join our team.

As an Electrical Service Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining electrical and electronic equipment and systems. The role involves working both on-site and, in the field, delivering high quality technical services to our customers. We provide services all over North Island and you will be required at times to travel outside of Auckland.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and rectify faults in commercial electrical appliances and equipment.
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Service and repair commercial ovens, fryers, mixers, dishwashers, proofers, refrigeration equipment and associated appliances.
• Replace faulty electrical and electronic components including switches, contactors, relays, motors, sensors, thermostats, heating elements, wiring, and control devices.
• Test appliances and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Repair and refurbish electrical and electronic systems used in commercial food-service and industrial equipment.
• Test electrical circuits, controls, motors, heating systems, sensors and associated components using specialised diagnostic equipment.
• Safely disconnect and reconnect electrical appliances and equipment as required for servicing and repair activities.
• Conduct functional testing following maintenance or repair work to verify safe and correct operation.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records and other job-related documentation.
• Provide technical recommendations regarding equipment performance, maintenance requirements and repair options.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with electrical safety requirements, company procedures and relevant New Zealand standards.
• Assist with identifying recurring equipment issues and recommending long-term corrective solutions.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Electrical qualification or minimum 6 months experience in appliance servicing, electrical equipment maintenance, electrical fault finding or equipment repair.
• Clean class 1 NZ Full Drivers Licence or equivalent overseas licence
• Clean police records to pass fit & proper criteria of EWRB to obtain EST limited certificate or practising licence
